  17. New features in version 1.40 of AutoTrac for Windows!
  18. =====================================================
  19.     The latest version of AutoTrac for Windows has been
  20.           included as part of your registration. New features
  21.           have been added.
  22.  
  23.     Please note that these additions are *NOT* covered in
  24.           the printed manual, or on-line help. The following
  25.           will explain the new features, and how to use them
  26.           with AutoTrac.

  30. Transferring Information under Windows 95
  31. =========================================
  32.     Version 1.40 of AutoTrac now transfers information
  33.           to word processors running under Windows 95. It is
  34.           still fully compatible with Windows 3.1.

  38. In Program Backup Of AutoTrac Files
  39. ===================================
  40.     Version 1.40 of AutoTrac now allows you to
  41.           automatically back up your important vehicle files,
  42.           while running AutoTrac.
  43.  
  44.     From the File menu, choose Backup All. Select the
  45.           drive and directory where you wish AutoTrac to backup
  46.           your vehicle files to by double-clicking on the
  47.           appropriate location from the list box.
  48.           The currently selected drive and directory are
  49.           displayed at the bottom of the dialog box.

  51.     When you have chosen the desired backup location,
  52.           select OK. AutoTrac will ask you to confirm your
  53.           backup to the drive and directory selected. Choose
  54.           OK to backup your files, or NO to return to the
  55.           drive / directory box. To cancel the backup, choose
  56.           Cancel.

  58.     All files with the following extensions are copied to
  59.           the drive / directory specified:
  60.     .alg; .exp; .xct; .mhf; .cmt; .mcg; .wpf; .xcg.

  64. Miles Per Gallon Calculation
  65. ============================
  66.     When sending information to a word processor, AutoTrac
  67.           now calculates the miles per gallon (MPG) of your
  68.           vehicle, if possible, and displays it in the Expenses
  69.           section of the printout.

  71.     In order for AutoTrac to calculate the MPG, the
  72.           following is required:
  73.  
  74.           * there must be an entry for Unit Cost, Total Cost
  75.             and Mileage when entering Gasoline expenses in the
  76.             Expense Dialog Box (see manual, page 9,10);
  77.  
  78.     * when sending expenses to a word processor, you must
  79.             select Send All. AutoTrac cannot calculate MPG if
  80.             you send only certain expenses to the word processor.
  81.  
  82.     When displaying the MPG field, the first and last
  83.           Gasoline entry will show "N/A" as the MPG, since no
  84.           prior or subsequent entries exist for calculation. If
  85.           no Unit Cost, Total Cost, or Mileage were entered in
  86.           the Expenses dialog box under Gasoline, then "N/A"
  87.           will also appear under the MPG field for that Gasoline
  88.           entry.

  92. Expenses Sorted By Date
  93. =======================
  94.     Upon selecting Log | Expenses, all expense entries are
  95.           sorted by date. This means that choosing the View
  96.           Previous and View Next buttons will now display the
  97.           expenses in chronological order, not necessarily in
  98.           the order they were entered.
  99.  
  100.     Note, however, that this does not take place during
  101.           the actual entering of the information. When entering
  102.           more than one expense, choosing the View Previous and
  103.           View Next buttons will display the entries in the
  104.           order entered. It is not until the dialog box is
  105.           closed and re-displayed, that the entries will be
  106.           sorted by date.

  109. Viewing and Sending Upcoming Maintenance
  110. ========================================

  112.     Now when Upcoming is selected from the Maintenance Dialog
  113.     box, or Upcoming Maintenance is selected from the Send
  114.     dialog box, you are prompted to enter the number of months
  115.     in advance you wouldlike to view the upcoming maintenance 
  116.     for.  You may enter a number from 0 to 12. If you enter 0,
  117.     the Overdue Maintenance is automatically calculated.
