New features in version 1.40 of AutoTrac for Windows!
=====================================================
The latest version of AutoTrac for Windows has been
included as part of your registration. New features
have been added.
Please note that these additions are *NOT* covered in
the printed manual, or on-line help. The following
will explain the new features, and how to use them
with AutoTrac.
Transferring Information under Windows 95
=========================================
Version 1.40 of AutoTrac now transfers information
to word processors running under Windows 95. It is
still fully compatible with Windows 3.1.
In Program Backup Of AutoTrac Files
===================================
Version 1.40 of AutoTrac now allows you to
automatically back up your important vehicle files,
while running AutoTrac.
From the File menu, choose Backup All. Select the
drive and directory where you wish AutoTrac to backup
your vehicle files to by double-clicking on the
appropriate location from the list box.
The currently selected drive and directory are
displayed at the bottom of the dialog box.
When you have chosen the desired backup location,
select OK. AutoTrac will ask you to confirm your
backup to the drive and directory selected. Choose
OK to backup your files, or NO to return to the
drive / directory box. To cancel the backup, choose
Cancel.
All files with the following extensions are copied to
the drive / directory specified:
.alg; .exp; .xct; .mhf; .cmt; .mcg; .wpf; .xcg.
Miles Per Gallon Calculation
============================
When sending information to a word processor, AutoTrac
now calculates the miles per gallon (MPG) of your
vehicle, if possible, and displays it in the Expenses
section of the printout.
In order for AutoTrac to calculate the MPG, the
following is required:
* there must be an entry for Unit Cost, Total Cost
and Mileage when entering Gasoline expenses in the
Expense Dialog Box (see manual, page 9,10);
* when sending expenses to a word processor, you must
select Send All. AutoTrac cannot calculate MPG if
you send only certain expenses to the word processor.
When displaying the MPG field, the first and last
Gasoline entry will show "N/A" as the MPG, since no
prior or subsequent entries exist for calculation. If
no Unit Cost, Total Cost, or Mileage were entered in
the Expenses dialog box under Gasoline, then "N/A"
will also appear under the MPG field for that Gasoline
entry.
Expenses Sorted By Date
=======================
Upon selecting Log | Expenses, all expense entries are
sorted by date. This means that choosing the View
Previous and View Next buttons will now display the
expenses in chronological order, not necessarily in
the order they were entered.
Note, however, that this does not take place during
the actual entering of the information. When entering
more than one expense, choosing the View Previous and
View Next buttons will display the entries in the
order entered. It is not until the dialog box is
closed and re-displayed, that the entries will be
sorted by date.
Viewing and Sending Upcoming Maintenance
========================================
Now when Upcoming is selected from the Maintenance Dialog
box, or Upcoming Maintenance is selected from the Send
dialog box, you are prompted to enter the number of months
in advance you wouldlike to view the upcoming maintenance
for. You may enter a number from 0 to 12. If you enter 0,
the Overdue Maintenance is automatically calculated.
